The Boy with Green Hair

(1948, Joseph Losey)

Sort of a silly anti-war premise featuring great acting from Pat O’Brien and a prepubescent Dean Stockwell. The conviction shown by director Losey and the actors prevent the story from C-movie status and promote it to a solid cult-level B-minus. If it were set in late-70s London, little Dean would’ve had to sport a spiked dog-collar and a safety pin through his cheek.

Definitely an entry in my unintentional Irish-themed marathon, since O’Brien affects a brogue as Stockwell’s hair turns a lovely emerald hue.
