She Done Him Wrong

She Done Him Wrong

(1933, Dir. Lowell Sherman)

Disappointing Mae West vehicle. Famous for code violations and the casting of a young Cary Grant as the love interest. But ultimately, a real yawner of a flick. Bad songs, bad acting and a sleepwalking West kill the enjoyment to be had by the notorious double-entendres.

  1. Making friends and influencing people ~ those are my specialty.

Sorry, I like the idea and persona of MW but this movie doesn’t really capture it well. Maybe I’m influenced by a modern sensibility, where this flick seems rather tame.
