The 400 Blows

The 400 Blows

(1959, Dir. François Truffaut)

One of the first and most successful films of the French New Wave, and therefore, a must for the cinephile. How I've never gotten around to seeing it before, I'm not certain. Nevertheless, it remains a powerful, poetic and influential document, which features a stunning performance by then 14-year-old Jean-Pierre Léaud as a delinquent Parisian youth.
