Pretty Persuasion

Pretty Persuasion

(2005, dir. Marcos Siega)

Over-the-top attempt at cutting satire. Wants to compete with Heathers or possibly Cruel Intentions for outlandish behavior by rich teenage girls who are out to cause mischief in others' lives. However, the script is happy to take lame swipes at such diverse topics as racism, pedophilia and teenage sexuality without ever crossing the line into scathing social commentary.

Evan Rachel Wood stands out despite the story as a cold and calculated 15-year-old who accuses her teacher of inappropriate advances.
